fuck, that killed it for me. I remeber I saw these picks on a Guns N' Roses website (subforum, obviously) a couple years ago like right as soon as they came out and was so intruiged by what the villagers could possibly be thinking seeing a helicopter for the first time.

Doesn't seem like it was an intentional hoax. To me it sounds like the group who photographed the tribe really believed that they had never been discovered before, and they took photographs with their best intentions to let the world know that such a tribe existed. So if the tribe had been noted since 1910, it just sounds like the group who photographed them were mistaken. Not exactly what I'd call a 'hoax'.
