Re: Three Things About Islam
Back to the koran, From the surahs I have read, (and I have read quite a bit) it is a disjointed, redundant, shallow attempt at pretending to be lofty and grandious while wallowing in bigotry, delusional murderous fantasies and manipulative pretenses of divinity. I read enough to be disgusted and I made a pretty honest effort my first couple times since I had no idea what Islam was about. |

Re: Three Things About Islam
I believe the official report into the Waco situation said the fire was caused by the Branch Dividians themselves, not the Government. Yes Koresh was deranged, but so was interpretation of the Christian Bible..... This the the whole point here John..... Every religous book can be interpreted in different ways. And they are. To say the Koran can only be interpreted one way is beyond ignorant, and probably for racial reasons. Muhammad Ali didn't run around bombing stuff, why? Because his interpretation is different than some zelot. But the really amazing thing here is that you think you have the best insight into it, even though you're not a Muslim. Defaming a whole religion as potential terrorists is hate speech. Your not the only one on here hiding behind "free speech" so keep on going. The problem here that you don't seem to acknowledge is that all religions have their evil elements, and go through evil peroids. Read into the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition..... Christianity historically is no better. There are elements today, in America, that would gladly bring us back to that period in time if not for laws seperating church & state. You either don't acknowledge the Christian right or your completely ignorant, it exists and in 2004 78% of them voted for Bush. What do they want? For starters creationism taught in schools, prayer, no abortion and anything else that fits into their religous views. They want no seperation of church & state, and they are very politicly active & organized. Do your own research. |

Re: Three Things About Islam
Was I talking about those? No. We are talking about Islam, not christians. If Charles Martel hadn't won the Battle of Tours in 732 we would all be muslim. Oh yeah, if you aren't a history buff the Battle of Tours was fought to stop the muslims from invading the rest of Europe and slaughtering everyone in their wake. As I said, read the Koran and then see what you think of the destructive and parasitic cult. |
