Re: Three Things About Islam

The same way? If you want to discuss books they may be somewhat similar but not in practice. But thats not relevant to today's religion. Every mainstream religion has evolved to what it is today, a far cry from Biblical times. Christian values are what most civilized democracy's today values are based on. In Egypt, Yemen, Pakistan, somolia, Iran, Afghanistan and Libia are Muslim based societies. How are they the same??
They try to control peoples lives.

Re: Three Things About Islam

Last I checked Christianity is completely voluntary, and don't kill non believers or stone women for disobedience. If you actually visited a Muslim country you would see a religious society controlled. I'm not a advocate of any religion, but I'm not so blind I can't see a undeniable difference in human rights and decency. The difference in freedom, and value of life.

Let's see...
I was deployed to Iraq for 16 months back in 06-07, and I was deployed to Afghanistan for 12 months in 09-10. So I do know firsthand what islam does. Haven't you read any of my posts on the topic of islam? Not all soldiers are christain republicans that think everyone else is wrong because they don't watch fox news... Some of us actually think for ourselves.

Fuck religion in all forms.

Your post say your head is in the ground. I was there to and it was obvious to me. Never heard of a 16 month deployment.

Really? How long have you been in the army?
12 month deployment extended to 18 months after we hit the 6 month mark. Cut short to 16 months because of funding issues and in an effort to not make us spend two christmasses over there.

That is how you get 16 months, genius. Oh wait. I guess they didn't tell you that before 3 years ago they were able to extend deployments at month increments or one 6 month extension. Sorry for you not understanding how the army pre-2010 worked, noob.

What is your deployment experience?

Doesn't every philosophy try to impose ethics and behavior controls?

Even athiest USSR, PRC, among others tried to control people's lives.

Forced atheism is the same as forced religion.
Those are also examples of governments trying to control peoples lives.

So then atheism can be as dogmatic as religion?

No.
Governmental enforced anything adds dogma to it.

Re: Three Things About Islam

I didn't jump on anything. I agreed with some of your feelings on islam, and I also added additional information to the thread repeatedly. Once the topic of queers came up you jumped on my ass trying, and failing, to launch a personal attack on me. How did you already forget that?
"Once the topic of queers came up you jumped on my ass "
???? No I don't think so. I was kinda avoiding that. Sorry you thought so.
