Texas Gulf Sulphur Company

Very interesting explore, although the main factory building has since been torn down, offices, warehouses and the quality control lab remain. Some areas are as if the workers just up and left.

Re: Texas Gulf Sulphur Company

Neat place. I wonder why they left the chemicals behind, It seems kind of dangerous.

Re: Texas Gulf Sulphur Company

I wondered that, too. A fair number of the bottles appear to be empty, but others contain "something" and most have no labels. I always wonder when I see photos like this: why was so much left behind? And what is it?

Some of the photos appear to have been enhanced for artistic purposes--for example, the red gurney in what appears to be otherwise a black and white photo.

There is an abandoned chemical plant not far from me. I've often wished I could get close enough to the buildings to at least look through the windows. Unfortunately, there are a lot of fences, and I believe a security patrol as well.

Re: Texas Gulf Sulphur Company

I'm unsure why so much was left behind, and yes, many jars had chemicals and what not still inside. Other rooms full of supplies and chemicals not pictured, as well. The gurney pic was indeed altered :)
