Story of an Opossum Rescue
In 2018 I was awakened by the sound of foxes harassing *something* outside. Went out to check and saw an opossum surrounded. We've fostered possums in the past and love the silly buggers. I scooped it up and took it inside, only to discover a bunch of tails sticking out of her pouch. NINE babies! We kept mama for about a week, fed her and kept her warm and safe, and in return we could take and hold a baby or two to cuddle for a while without upsetting her. We released her in a safe place with her children...

i rescued two baby opossums last february. i used to think they were repulsive and nasty. seeing a possum is like seeing something you arent supposed to see, like mold or fungus growing in your house. then my sister caught a couple one and it changed my opinion of them. they are actually very gentle and kind animals. they stay clean and don't have any kind of smell. they can be cuddly and fall asleep in your lap. I miss them |

I feed a wild opossum (maybe more than one). I give it left over canned cat food, dry cat food, bread, hot dogs and some of my own leftovers. I see it sometimes if I go out there late at night. I don't know if the opossum eats all the food or if other animals are eating it too but it's always gone the next day.
