Stellarium (0.13.02 atm) is a free open source planetarium for your computer. It shows a realistic sky in 3D, just like what you see with the naked eye, binoculars or a telescope.

It is being used in planetarium projectors. Just set your coordinates and go.

The link provides enough info for the savvy folks, but not everyone is IT or science savvy.

Kuyper belt objects or certain Comets and lots more are not standard in the install integrated, so you can't see or find them by default, but it can be added manually or by finding the correct menu item; I hope I find the manual...
