I adopted a skull from a hospital once, when I was attempting to map them in my head to draw from more perspectives. After a while, I began studying X-rays, and then the different skulls of small Monkeys, and Lemurs. They're nice because their bigger eyes can really animate drawings, still be made evil looking, but they always maintain proportionality. Though, the most important thing, I think I've ever learned about, is Phi (or the Golden Ratio). In terms of art, or building audio equipment, or whatever I get up to the Phi proportion is effing everywhere. I love that shit so much I have an open Phi calculator widget on my desktop at all times, and even bought a pair of handmade Phi Callipers off the dude who makes them from Australia. |
