Re: Spider Behind the Clock

Desperately cute! Not as big as the spider I want to get though!

I'm looking into buying a Goliath Birdeater. I know they can be kept as pets, but I'm not sure if it's legal or not. Either way, I will have one! I already have an Emperor Scorpion which I insist on handling all the time despite the fact he attacks me (:

I also want to get a big snake that I can feed rabbits to, but it's an expensive commitment I can't afford right now
Hmmm... if I were you I would start out with a chilean rose or in latin grammastola rosea. The are pretty big as well and can be kept quite easely.
Goliath is very difficult to maintain because it needs a large container with moist dirt. Moist will atract fungus and the spider can become sick. I wanted one as well, but the are way to hard to keep imo. Think it over good and get good information from other forums.

Damn.. my english is even worse now than it ever was lol

Re: Spider Behind the Clock

i agree with everyone else who said they would cry and not enter their house again. I'd have the whole house cleaned by an exterminator if that happened to me. like I'm better about bugs now, I can get rid of them myself....as long as they arent large enough to kill me. btw, i dont want to visit australia anymore and I will not be going to saudi arabia anytime soon. *shudders* nothing has grossed me out on here yet, but this makes me not want to sleep.

Re: Spider Behind the Clock

I had something that size trying to crawl out of the ventilation in the ceiling when I was in residential college in Australia. Sucks hairy balls to look up and see furry legs like that!

Re: Spider Behind the Clock

Definitely a Huntsman spider , they're cool. We a huge Huntsman walk down the hall inot the lounge one day while we were watching TV. Looked alot like one of those alien walker ships out of War of the Worlds or Starwars..(well except for the eight legs thing, oh and the fact that it was only about 4cms off the floor!) . Theyre reasonbly common here in Aus. They don't produce a web they just stroll around looking to pounce on the next meal. Completely harmless unless cornered..
