Thinking of Titanic, we visualize a giant ship on the water. Huge and commanding respect. Well, that it was, but compared to modern cruise ships, the formidable Titanic was a tiny boat. Take a look at this image and see how the Titanic compares to a modern cruise ship.

It may have been beaten in size, but Titanic has class going for it. The modern ships might have better amenities and areas, but when it comes to overall looks, modern cruise ships can’t help but look like tasteless boxes as compared to the looks of ships like the Titanic.

Maybe they used the biggest ship of 1912 vs biggest modern one to illustrate the point. Quite a comparison

Perhaps that is the comparison but my job brings me to the Port of Tampa every day so I have seen quite a few commonly used cruise ships and they are not that big.

Most passenger ships in 1912 were not as big as the titanic either... hence biggest passenger ships of their day comparison and not random fishing trawler compared to the titanic.
