Re: Scientists Extract Images Directly from Brain
I wonder if they extracted the image using and advanced form of the same technology they used to read the minds. I mean, they are checking the changes in the brain's blood flow using an MRI machine, so it sounds like a very similar approach to the American and Germans... I do want to punch that scientist in your video who said there's no more science fiction.. where's the time travel? the teleportation? the little star treck chest buttons for communication, the laser weapons that can be set to stun and kill. I WANT TELEPORTATION hehe |

Re: Scientists Extract Images Directly from Brain
If this technology relies on visual stimulus then any actual realtime mind-reading or dream interpretation is going to be a long long way off. Still its amazing they've managed to get this far with it some of the images were even recognisable in the data being pulled from the brain before the computer selected a shape it thought it matched. If R&D on this advances at a decent rate we could be seeing some crazy applications 20 years from now, only time will tell if the scope for extracting raw data from the brain is limited by our own conciousness and what not |
