Actually it causes blindness & can be deadly to unborn babies. I'm not sure you're right about the crazy cat lady stuff.

Toxoplasmosis only happens if you feed them raw meat, years ago I had a miscarriage and my mum was saying it was the cats fault because they cause toxoplasmosis. I had to point out to her that not only did I never give the cats raw meat, it's transmitted if you touch their poop then put your hands in your mouth or eat food without washing your hands.
