Re: Rollie, Playing Armadillo
We get these guys in the yard quite often. Really fascinating, but they can just rip up your landscape so fast. There were 5 little ones outside our home about a month ago. They have poor hearing and when approached they jump straight up at the last moment. That is exactly what one did when my dog spotted it a while back. It squealed, too...

Re: Rollie, Playing Armadillo
We have nine-banded armadillos here in Missouri. They've been slowly working northward from Texas and parts-south. They're cute, but dumb and slow as hell. That, and they carry leprosy. But I still try like hell not to hit them on the road. We have a large, commercial land-fill site at the head-end of my connector road. (Several miles away from my land, thankfully.) But seagulls, skunks, and now, armadillos swarm over that property. |
