Re: The Real Silent Hill Town

Looked more like a cow/pig's ribcage. My guess is the animal was sniffing around, a cloud of Carbon Monoxide came up and suffocated the animal, and it slowly rotted. Dust to dust.

Re: The Real Silent Hill Town

Nice pics. Before anybody drives too far to see Centralia, you should be aware of a few things. Firstly, almost all the buildings have been demolished and the debris removed, so there isn't much of a "there" to visit. It wouldn't be difficult at all to drive right by and never notice the place. Secondly, all the way cool cracks in the ground and the creepy cemeteries and stuff are all clustered on top of one hill. There is active strip mining in the immediate area and there are thriving little towns in sight. IOW, there is a lot of activity going on around where Centralia used to be. If you go there expecting to visit the "real" Silent Hill, you are going to be disappointed.
Perfectly stated. Oh, and that "Silent Hill" church isn't creepy at all. It's actually a rather beautiful and serene place. The cemeteries, as well. All well-maintained with the larger cemetery still being used.

Centralia: Before and After.
