Well, depending on take off or landing many of those birds would be sucked into the engines. If they can suck a man off the ground they can pull a bird out of they air. If it is real I'd venture a guess that it was moments before they declared an in flight emergency.

Doesn't take much believe it or not. I really can't remember the last time we had an IFE due to a bird strike, but they happen.

anything say, under 4-feet in bird design, will go thru the turbines rather easily, its wwhen you start getting to the multiple seagulls/humans going thru that fucks you up ....
