Pronghorn Deer

Pronghorns are unlike other deer in that they keep their horns. When they die, the outer sheath like on the left-hand skull often loosens and the bony spikes like on the right-hand skull are exposed. The interior spikes are why the "horns" don't drop every year, by the way.

Re: Pronghorn Deer

A western US deer. I had a friend who used to track pronghorn herds across the wilds (for science, not to hunt). He gave me my first Stetson. Eventually Jesus appeared to him in a pickup truck, and then he went crazy. My friend, not Jesus.
