A polar bear clings on tight as the iceberg he's resting on melts away.

The stunning image was released today to highlight climate change.

WWF has collected the top 10 animal pictures from it's online storybook, Earth Book, ahead of next week's Rio+20 Earth Summit.

Re: Polar Bear Clinging to Melting Iceberg

Bet there's a massive berg just to the right or left. These images have been criticised as one similar was shown in the papers claiming the bears were stranded on some small section of ice yet they'd actually just clambered onto the nearest section and beside them was a massive expanse of ice.

But, you never know and we should be concerned.

Re: Polar Bear Clinging to Melting Iceberg

I don't know any story behind the photograph, but I've known it to exist for at least a few years because it's in my photo library. Perhaps the story of the melting iceberg is that old. Somehow me thinks not.

Re: Polar Bear Clinging to Melting Iceberg

I agree.. such a shame that idiots don't know that those bears are excellent swimmers and that icebergs are not the home of the polar bears.... anyway believe the agenda of the global warming so carbon taxes can make some certain people billionaires while you pay your lasts cent for 9$ per gallon gas.

But you miss the point...what happens when the Iceburgs to the ''right or left'' melt, just like the rest of the iceburgs that already have?
