Pig on Way to Slaughterhouse Makes a Death Defying Jump from a Truck

This pig was on the way to a slaughterhouse, before he made a death-defying jump from a moving truck to save his bacon.

The pig was in a transportation truck in South America, and managed to climb on the top of the truck’s back roof.

A driver behind the truck filmed the pig making his way up to the top of the truck, before he suddenly jumped out.

He is seen falling on to the road, where he rolls to the side and onto the grass.

The pig then slowly stands up and starts hobbling away with what appeared to be a broken back leg.

The footage has made its way onto the internet, after another pig recently leapt off another truck in China.

A witness said the Chinese sow, now referred to as ‘Babe’, climbed over the backs of other pigs before leaping out of the slaughterhouse van.

Images of this pig (in first comment) have gone around the world, after police who responded to the incident in the Guangxi region took her in and have adopted her.

i read that the S-A pig in the vid was guided back into the truck by the trucker and ended up in the slaughterhouse after all.

This little piggy will not be going to market after escaping from a moving truck on the way to a slaughterhouse.

The sow, who has since been nicknamed Babe, after the Hollywood film, was captured jumping 16ft to freedom in south China.

A witness said the pig climbed over the backs of her fellow porkers before leaping out of the slaughterhouse van.

Miraculously she escaped unhurt and has now been adopted by police who responded to the incident in the Guangxi region.

‘She was safe and sound after her leap,’ said a police spokesman, ‘but found herself lost in the big city.

‘If we hadn’t have got to her he would have undoubtedly found himself at the end of a blade wielded by a local who would have enjoyed pork for days to come.’

He added: ‘She saw one chance of freedom by clambering on the backs of the other pigs and took it.

‘She deserves her chance of life and she has got it. She will never be eaten here.’

Babe is being kept at the police station and is living happily in a pen usually reserved for a police dog.

See, I'm torn here, one the one hand I love bacon, so I'm sad that the pig is escaping because that means less bacon, but on the other hand, as an American, I love the gutsey leap for freedom, even though it results in less bacon.
