Philipp and Helene Bouhler

Philipp Bouhler was a senior Nazi Party official who was both a Reichsleiter and Chief of the Chancellery of the Führer of the NSDAP. He was also an SS General, and was in charge of the Aktion T4 euthanasia program that killed more than 70,000 handicapped adults and children in Nazi Germany. His wife, Helene "Helli" (Majer) Bouhler, was born in Lauingen on the 20th April 1912 and she was known as "schönste Frau der Reichskanzlei" (prettiest woman of the chancellory). She married Bouhler on the 18th August 1934 and they had no children. She was also a friend of Herman Göring and the Bouhlers were with him at Fischhorn Castle in May 1945. She committed suicide soon after her arrest, possibly by jumping from a high window of the castle. Ten days later Phillipp committed suicide while in Allied custody, by swallowing a cyanide capsule.

Re: Philipp and Helene Bouhler

They knew that their high life was over and would never return.

So it was "I'm outta here!".

Sensible enough, I suppose.
