Me: Diabetics can be squeaky clean and still get horrible infections and gangrene and end up losing their extremities, toes, fingers, etc. If they should happen to injure themselves - stub their toe, have an ingrown toenail, get a pimple or blackhead - they are more likely to suffer long term, potentially life altering consequences than someone without diabetes. |
