Otis The Smiling Hippo
When they said "give me a big smile", Otis the happy hippo was keen to oblige. The three-ton mammal beamed a monster grin as Jay Parker, 35, and then his wife, Lauren, 30, posed next to the tank at a zoo. The photos have now become an internet sensation and Jay said: "When we saw his face we knew we had to get a picture." He added: "I think Otis looks pretty tired - or maybe he's having a happy dream." The couple, from Little Rock, Arkansas, took the photos in San Diego. And with a mouth that big, they must have been relieved Otis wasn't taking snaps at them.. 6,000lbs Weight of adult hippo. In the wild they spend up to 16 hours a day in water and can hold their breath for up to five minutes at a time.  ·  · |
