OGUSSA 1 kg Cast Gold Bar Production in Vienna, Austria
ÖGUSSA, an Austrian precious-metals refinery in Vienna, produces cast gold bars in 250-gram, 500-gram and 1-kilogram sizes. Gold jewelry scrap is gathered in a metal tray and melted in a furnace. The molten metal is granulated into gold grain, which is placed in a crucible and melted again before being poured into an open ingot mold. The newly cast bar is removed with tongs while still glowing and later finished and stamped. The completed 1-kilogram bars bear the ÖGUSSA diamond logo, a serial number and the inscription "999,9 FEINGOLD 1000 g," denoting 999.9 fine gold.
