Mud Volcano Exploded in Colombia
On Wednesday, February 25, 2026, a mud volcano erupted near the town of San Juan de Urabá in the Antioquia Department of Colombia. The eruption began around 6:20 PM local time near a municipal water treatment plant. The eruption featured a massive fireball and high flames reaching into the night sky, caused by the ignition of methane gas released under high pressure. No human fatalities or injuries were reported but several cattle were killed and surrounding vegetation caught fire. |
