That is too cool. He instinctively knew he would be helped there. Maybe from living in the area and seeing the people feed and care for the horses and such.

That was so cool that your Mom had the balls and the PATIENCE to do that. I don't know if I could get through that until I saw it, now I'll just wait for me to care for them, if I get in the situation. I felt like he's an unappreciative dick at first, then I realized he's not sure if it's to help or hurt. I be he felt a lot better after that episode. Then, of course, got hit by a car.

These birds are so amazing! When I was little, one that lived in our area was attacked by a cat. It shattered his wing. We kept him in our house for four months until we realized he would never be able to fly. We let him go outside, I remember seeing him hobble down train tracks. The next day he was back our yard, squawking and begging for food. My dad ended up sticking him in a large oak tree in the back of the property, and brought him food every day for almost 3 years. One day we went outside and he was gone. Not sure if he was killed, or just moved on. |
