Man Donates Blood, Saves Over 2.4 Million Babies.
An Australian man named James Harrison is credited with saving the lives of 2.4 million babies. Mr.Harrison has what's been referred to as "the golden arm" When he was a young teenager he needed blood transfusions to save his life, he then vowed to give back and donate blood when he turned 18. When he donated blood, it was discovered that his body produced rare combination RhD negative blood with RhD positive antibodies occurring naturally, which makes him an ideal donor. When an woman with rh- blood is pregnant and the father is rh+ blood type there is a risk if the baby is rh+ because the mothers antibodies will fight off the unborn child as if it was foreign to the mother's body. I myself and my daughter have rh- blood type so our children were born without complications due to receiving A donor shot. |
