Re: London Riots Start To Spread Across England (6-10th August 2011)
If i was acting like a mindless moron and not giving a fuck about innocent people around me then yeah...whack me with that baton. Seems no one is stopping and thinking about the rocks being hurled at the police, the missiles being thrown, the fires causing many injuries. They are doing a job to protect the people and not CHOOSING to be there.. Those rioting ARE choosing to be there so they should expect some violence back imo. If not then fuck off home. |

Re: London Riots Start To Spread Across England (6-10th August 2011)
We need to pull our troops out of Libya and Afganistan and get them here your right about that. We're too afraid to act against what happens on our own doorstep that's why we have so many scum bags running the streets. And there is no reasons for these act of the last few day's, it's purely acts of criminality. These aren't protesters they're thugs looking for any excuse to cause trouble. It's a endless spiral of scum bag parents having kids and showing them no morals or right from wrong. We need to get tough with these fuckers and let the army sort them out. I'd have them rounded up, locked up and have the troops to show them discipline. Although I don't think it fair to our troops to have them sort this mess out but I fear it's the last resort. |

Re: London Riots Start To Spread Across England (6-10th August 2011)
Okay, but they have procedures they must adhere to. They don't just tear up the rule book on a whim. If they do that now, when else might they decide to do the same? People are very reactionary with these emotive issues, but rarely consider the wider consequences of a more empowered police force. I do not wish to live in a police state. |

Re: London Riots Start To Spread Across England (6-10th August 2011)
There are many factors that have lead to the issues of the last few days. Not having a properly representative government is one thing. How can they act on things happening in poorer areas of London whilst living in leafy suburbs? Immigration is a factor, I won't deny it. But because we have MPs that live in areas where it doesn't affect them, nothing's been done about it. Another factor is the wealth gap. We have an elitist government that act in self interest, to protect the small bands of power that are their true constituency.

Dan your view is precisely what's wrong with this country, you'd sooner take the power from the police and give it to average Joe, that's all well and good if you have a stable and educated population, but sadly we don't! The police need more power not less. |

Re: London Riots Start To Spread Across England (6-10th August 2011)
The police have had plenty of power and abused it. They were granted 'anti terror' powers in the wake of 7/7 which they used to harass people. What do you want, anyway? The right for them to just go steaming in and beat the shit out of anyone they suspect of crime?

Re: London Riots Start To Spread Across England (6-10th August 2011)
You speak of the police as if they're out to do the public wrong, If your not doing anything wrong or have anything to hide then the police are there to help you. Ok there have been a few bad apples in the force but 99% of police men and women join up to serve the public not abuse them. You'd really prefer the alternative |
