It's posted in a dif thread on DR with info. Short story, junkies "dissolve" an antidepressant and shoot it up. Turns out that it doesn't dissolve too well and undissolved particles get stuck in veins and cause gangrene in that area. Needless to say, they continue using it anyways.

Seen this aswell..were shootin up antidepressants, I wish someone could find an update on this..takes A LOT to make me cringe, and the lady at the end..yeh..lol If I were any of them..I'd just ask them to amputate..forget that noise.. |

The drug is called tianeptine and it's a prescription antidepressant. Apparently IVing it gives the user an opiate-like high. Problem is the drug is not very water soluble and as a result each injection introduces solid particles into the bloodstream which causes clots/thrombosis which typically leads to severe tissue necrosis.

Can't believe I ever put myself through stuff like this. When she's getting her abscess changed @ the end ...it turns my stomach. Luckily when it happened to me the nurses/doctors were very nice cause it was painful as hell!
