As stunning as this animal is. Pure breed tigers and lions are an endangered species in the world today. These hybrids are created for no other reason than man playing god and for aesthetic reasons. They do not help the repopulation of any of the pure breed aka the endangered species of this world and 99% of conservation sites or zoos will not take them in or rehome them.

Hybrid or not, those cats are absolutely beautiful! Everything alive doesn't have to be fertile to have a good life! If they were legal to keep, I would gladly live with one ! |

I think s/he meant if tigers and lions ever crossbreed in the wild. or this only happens artificially, whether male ligers are fertile or not or only slightly fertile wouldnt have any effect on the possibility of tigers and lions crossbreeding in the wild.... though as rare as it may be, surely there has to be some sort of way that this might have happened somewhere in the wile at some point in the long history of these animals. |
