Louis Theroux joins the Philadelphia Police Department patrolling the most dangerous part of one of the most violent cities in America.

With gun carrying drug dealers on every corner, it is now normal for the centre of Philadelphia to stage 30 or 40 homicides a month. Embedded within the Philly rapid response teams, Louis feels a palpable sense of adrenalin mixed with frustration as police and the drug dealing 'corner boys' take each other on night after night. Here is a community desperate for protection but unwilling to talk to the law enforcers for fear of street retribution.

Louis senses a society trying to contain a lawlessness born out of poverty and disaffection. There's mistrust on all sides, although over time Louis sees a complex picture evolve - there are cops and robbers, guns and violence, but also an understanding between both sides. They are all part of 'The Game' which plays itself out night after night between the community and the cops given the task of policing it.

I used to live in Killadelphia before I joined the flocks and moved to the suburbs.

Philadelphia is now like a third world country. The neighborhoods all turned from working middle class families to section 8 and welfare recipients. With that came the graffiti, violence, gangs, crime until the place is now literally a war zone.

I only go back for weddings and funerals now. In fact at my uncles funeral one of his friends, Philly police officer Chuck Cassidy was in attendance and actually drove his police car at the head of the funeral procession. A week later he was going into Dunkin Donuts and had the misfortune to walk in on an armed robbery where a guy shot him in the head and ran out of the store. His scum bag family helped him to get out of town before finally being caught in Florida.

There are still plenty of good people in Philly but they are scared and potential victims every day they stay in the city. Center City has become a hip spot for professionals but the old neighborhoods which gave Philly it's character are now war zones.

Wtf Its not that badddd fuck. In Philly its simple keep your mouth shut and don't make contact with people you don't know... If I can walk around there without problems anyone can. Where else would we go to buy drugs lol?
