^ It doesn't really work that way, sweep I wish it did, because I love big cats and 'blood sports' piss me off, but the significance of that report isn't that cat's are encroaching our areas, even if you release one back into the wilderness, the damage is done; These wild animals are no longer intimidated by human presence and now view populated area as hunting grounds -if it bleeds it feeds- and your dog, cat or toddler child would make a delicious and nutritious snack to a cougar. |

My son had a black panther crouching in the driveway in michie, tn. Other locals had seen it before, but rangers & law enforcement say it doesn't exist. Either escaped pet (most likely) or melanistic bobcat (never heard of one). All we know is that was a very large black cat, approx the size of a German shephard.
