Re: Labrador Rescues 2 Other Dogs Who Were Stuck on a Boat Floating Down a River
I going to surmise the dog(s) are being trained in rescue or are already trained and simply honing their skills. Not taking away from this wonderful video because there will be people in distress those dogs will save. |

Re: Labrador Rescues 2 Other Dogs Who Were Stuck on a Boat Floating Down a River
I think you're right, Matti. The boat seems to be stalling in the river at times to wait for the dog. It may have had a line attached in the back. A free floating boat would have moved past them faster than that. The guy didn't seem concerned or alarmed in the least. It did seem like a training exercise. Then again, it may have been a real rescue and the boat was getting hung up in submerged debris. |

Re: Labrador Rescues 2 Other Dogs Who Were Stuck on a Boat Floating Down a River
I know. I watched it again and caught the owner starting to bounce a ball (?) before the video stopped. I think all 3 dogs belonged to him. I am still extremely impressed. Years ago, someone filmed a raging river that flooded a neighborhood. While filming, he caught a Yellow Lab that was swimming from one side of to the other. He kept filming and found the dog was allowing people who were stranded, to grab hold of him and swim them to safety. He did these about 4 times before the vid stopped. I have never been able to find that video, though. I cried. I owned 2 Labradors and without doubt, one of the most engaging breeds. Wonderful dogs. |

My mom had a pit bull that would do that. His name was Toby.
