Never thought about a gorilla doing sign language but it seems obvious when you see it.

Koko got bad news once. She was told that her kitten had gotten killed on the road. Koko signed she was sad. When the person left, you could hear Koko wailing in her room.

That video is out there also. I don't know how to load these things so maybe someone else can find it.

This gorilla sobbing like a human about a kitten that has died will wrench your gut out. At least it did mine.

Not sure how I'd feel about giving a gorilla bad news. Yeah we're alike in intelligence but how about emotionally? I'd be worried it would go all King Kong pretty quickly.
