Body Recovery From The JAL Flight 123 Crash 8/12/1985

On August 12, 1985, a devastating aviation disaster shook Japan as Japan Airlines Flight 123, a Boeing 747SR aircraft, suffered a catastrophic failure, leading to one of the deadliest single-aircraft accidents in history.

The ill-fated flight, a domestic route from Tokyo's Haneda Airport to Osaka International Airport, encountered a grave emergency just 12 minutes after takeoff. The aircraft's rear pressure bulkhead, located near the tail section, ruptured—a result of improper repairs carried out seven years earlier following a tail strike incident.

The rupture had dire consequences, causing an immediate and complete loss of hydraulic fluid, rendering all hydraulic systems on the plane inoperable. This loss of hydraulic power severely limited the flight crew's ability to control the aircraft.

In the face of this harrowing situation, Captain Masami Takahama and his crew demonstrated exceptional skill and bravery. For the next 32 minutes, they fought to keep the aircraft airborne and under control. Passengers and crew members endured extreme turbulence and fear as they grappled with the dire circumstances.

Tragically, the aircraft's struggle ended when it crashed into Mount Takamagahara in Gunma Prefecture, Japan, resulting in the loss of 520 lives out of the 524 people on board.

The last pic was taken by an amateur and clearly shows the missing vertical stabilizer.

The part when you hear the plane crash into the mountain is scary and listening to the PA inside the plane is nasty...

Very sad.

Why does it sound like towards the end the beginning of the Rammstein song Reise, Reise? It sounds just like that very beginning part. It's so eerie.
