That is just damn retarded. As many years as Ive worked veterinary, there are chemicals that will make the drop. All the is doing is ripping their bodies off. Once they firmly attach, they wont let go until they have filled with blood. In the meantime that mouth is sunk in and the head isnt going anywhere. It causes the insect to release poisons.

Wipe ticks off and destroy them.

Easy and simple and it worked for my great grands at their cattle farm for years.
