Toshiteru Yamaji, did a photographic series on a single Japanese pig farmer over a ten year period and was awarded the 13th Japanese Self-Publishing Award, Graphic Prize for his photo book entitled "Pig and Papa"

You can be kind and raise animals for slaughter at the same time.

I don't think I could do that with pigs. Too much like dogs. I will pay someone else to humanely raise and butcher me up some juicy chops, though.
