I don't really agree with this side of the horse world, but I think it's pretty interesting to see a horse gallop whilst stationary. You can really appreciate how powerful these animals are.

Yeah enjoyed the gallop and loved the pony towards the end.

Imagine if the horse got spooked though or there was a sudden power outage that stopped the treadmill dead still. Could cause quite and injury

Have assisted in two treadmill horse endoscopies... all I can say is, scary as fuck. If the horse falters, it gets thrown back. If the treadmill freezes, the horse lunges forward; the sudden inertial changes can cause ligament ruptures and fractures of the bone. I've heard one incident of a horse stumbling on such a machine, and it resulted in a multi-million dollar payout to the owner of the horse.

i think they're looking to see if its a clean winded horse, some having breathing difficulties when galloping in race conditions
