"Honey, If This Doesn't Work I'll See The Doc About Viagra" Largest Crane in U.S.
I saw this monster being loaded onto a train at my work last year and got some pics, I've also included some images found on the web and some specs. Steiger TTS 1000 Facts: 328 ft. working height 131 ft. horizontal reach 35.8 mph wind operating capability at any position 1102 lb. platform capacity 110/220 v electric outlets in platform High pressure water outlet in platform When introduced in 2002, the TTS 1000 was the highest working platform in the world at 100 meters (328’), and when it arrives, it will be the highest machine in North America. Since its introduction, its height has been exceeded, but not it’s unmatched specifications. Bronto, a Finnish company, manufactured (shortly after the Steiger TTS 1000) a 101 meter (331’) machine and then again in 2009 a 104 meter (341’) machine. The Steiger, however, remains unmatched with its 40 meter (131’) lateral reach and its significant capability to operate in any position withstanding winds up to 16 meters per second (35.8 mph). Other machines from 90 meters and up are limited to 12 meters per second (26.8 mph) winds. This capability gives the Steiger TTS 1000 an unmatched stability and great height. |
