Re: Holden Commodore W427

Burnouts in a Maloo in third isn't that hard since it has next to no weight in the ass. With a twin turbo set up it probably smokes tires in sixth gear.

Re: Holden Commodore W427

There's a long history of people stuffing big engines into cars, some of them even became production cars, here's a short list.

1. TVR Griffith-The original made by Jack Griffith with a Ford V8.
2. Shelby Cobra-Remember, Carroll Shelby did NOT make the chassis.
3. TVR Cerbera Speed 12-INSANE 12 cylinder TVR detuned to 800 hp that would still spin wheels in all gears.

Plus the various kits for cars like the V8 conversion kits for the various years of Mazda Miata. The most current one uses the LS2 V8.

Re: Holden Commodore W427

theirs a video somewhere on youtube with skaife test driving the W427, also an LS7 twin turbo VZ maloo ute doing burnouts in 3rd gear
I remember seeing a clip of him putting a W427 through the paces when they first released them. Did you see the look on his face when he got out of it??? This guy used to race V8 supercars for a living and looked like he had a fucking ball. I fucking want one!!!

Re: Holden Commodore W427

If we had the disposable income we had before moving I think my wife would've let me get a Nissan GT-R.

My current, ongoing project is my 1991 Mazda MX-5. I have an extra engine awaiting rebuild, balancing, and blueprinting but I've been pretty much convalescing because of a back injury. I'm going to be porting the head and probably getting 1mm larger valves, definitely .5mm larger pistons with H beam con rods. With the engine management and turbo I'll be probably laying down around 220hp to the wheels... which doesn't sound like a lot but considering it's only a 1.6 liter 4 cylinder engine in a car weighing roughly 980kg...
