HIV-Positive 6-Year-Old AIDS Orphan Living Alone in Liuzhou, China, 2010
In 2010, a 6-year-old HIV-positive boy was living alone in his family's windowless brick hut near Liuzhou in southern China's Guangxi region. Both of his parents had died of AIDS-related illness. He cooked and washed for himself, kept chickens, tended vegetables and studied at home. His paternal grandmother visited, while neighbors and volunteers brought food, clothing and bedding. A black dog was his constant companion. The boy had attended one term of preschool but was kept out of primary school after other parents protested. The village obtained a monthly minimum-living allowance of 70 yuan for him, with an increase to 100 yuan expected the following year. A welfare home initially could not admit him, but he later moved to Dele Home, an HIV/AIDS welfare home in Nanning. By 2012, when he was 8, he had attended a summer camp in Shenzhen. The documentary photographs show him lighting a cooking fire, reading beneath a bare bulb, working in a vegetable patch, playing in the yard and spending time with his dog.  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  ·  · |

He has HIV. His life expectancy without treatment can't be long.

Dude people can be so cruel id have no fear helping the little fellow out he deserves as much of a chance at life as anyone else he never chose to be born with HIV people make me sick at times!!!!! |
