I got a finger in a sawblade one time while pulling material AWAY from the blade. It was my left index and pretty much decimated my fingernail and blasted the tissue away and nicked the bone. Lots of novacaine, 11 sutures and a sweet splint and believe it or not, I went back to work. I was a custom stereo installer and we were trying to finish a Corvette to go to Daytona Beach. Working in the dark on a truncated timeframe and I was careless. The reality of a finger in a sawblade is quite remote because people are extra-cautious out of the nature of the tool. My finger is fine now but the very tip is super sensitive to touch. |
