The one I saw on the Devonshire coast was much less impressive size-wise than the Japanese one. It's body was about the size of the large cereal bowl I have my porridge in! Still large for a crab here, quite creepy looking thing. It just sat there as the tide rolled in. Wish I had a pic, I would have posted it definately!

I was thinking it would be quite hard for these creatures to move about on land, when i saw them in the museum I believe they said the only reason they can get to that size was the water supporting them
