Re: Ghost Town of Picher, Oklahoma
Correct. Some agency has a few new buildings occupied while they deal with the lead clean-up and demolition of the remaining structures. One of the guys actually came out and asked what I was doing snooping around. Once I told him I was just curious, he left me alone as long as I stayed out of the buildings that had been stripped and marked.

Re: Ghost Town of Picher, Oklahoma
I lived in Enid OK when I was a kid. I remember the tornados and what they did. There were several small towns that were nothing but foundations. It's a shame about the lead. People losing their homes and memories is sad. Great post!

The doll is creepy! Looks like someone left in quite a hurry! I'd like to check the store. Good tv there, too Great photos! Thanks for sharing! Are the doll and the house full of clothing and a tv the same place? |

Re: Ghost Town of Picher, Oklahoma
You're welcome! Yah, the doll was at the same place at the TV and clothes. It was one of the only places that still had personal possessions in it. Most of the other homes and businesses had been gutted for demolition.
