Crocs and gators know how to hunt based on past experiences. They actually learn to get better at it. So then, the croc was actually already there, just waiting, when the gazelle approached. An ambush hunter's tactic. Just a lot of patience needed. Sometimes the prey will stop at precisely the right place to get a drink. I'd wager that the gazelle wasn't quite in the perfect spot, but the croc decided to give it a try anyway- only to miss... but he got CLOSE! Lucky gazelle- today, but tomorrow... we'll see. Everybody... gets thirsty...
