Swiss underwater photographer Franco Banfi photographed a green anaconda in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. The photographs were first published on November 10, 2012. Its reported length of 26 feet was an estimate and was not based on a documented measurement.

Six photographs show the snake coiled on a sandy riverbed, extending its tongue near an underwater bank and resting partly above the waterline. Other frames show it on a grassy bank and facing a diver equipped with a large camera housing and twin lights. The widely circulated head-on photograph of the diver approaching the anaconda was later determined to be genuine.

Fantastic!!! That is one brave camera man. I might be wrong but I think the prev anaconda record was 23 feet so possibly a new world record??

I was thinking "meh, just a snake, no big deal". And then I saw that picture with the diver in front of it.

Impressive.
