Doesn't make sense that it would be flopped. If it flopped, its legs wouldn't be spread in that position, because that only happens after the body starts to bloat with decomposition, which wouldn't happen in the cold. The animal is as lean as can be. It's next to water. I'm guessing the poor bastard fell into water, managed to get out, but then the intense cold sent it into muscle spasm and it simply couldn't move. The pain of the spasm could have killed it, and there you go. It's rare, and very unlikely, but not impossible. |
