Four Sitka Black-Tailed Deer Rescued Near Juneau, Alaska, in 2010
In October 2010, Capt. Tom Satre and his family encountered four juvenile Sitka black-tailed deer swimming through rough water near Taku Inlet and Stephens Passage, south of Juneau, Alaska. Satre was aboard his 62-foot charter vessel, Alaska Quest, when his daughter spotted the animals in whitecaps of about 3 feet. Satre brought the boat alongside the deer, lassoed each one onto the swim step and pulled them aboard. The exhausted animals rested on the aft deck during the trip to Taku Harbor. Three walked from the dock into the forest after the boat arrived. The fourth was too weak to leave on its own, so it was carried by dock cart to a warm location and later recovered. · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · · ·

I'm kinda pissed there is no pics showing them get the deer on-board. That seems like it would be pretty hard.
