I think you are thinking of the M60A1?

Either way, great post, no sense in ruining it by arguing, it doesn't really matter, does it?
Not really arguing, but the there are other differences, like the lack of a muzzle break that was common to the M48, and even the gun mantel looks more like M60 than M48, but no matter...

M60A2:
Thanks, that's what was throwing me, I couldn't quite make it out, that's that fucked up 'starship' version that never went anywhere, the one with the 152mm Shillelagh anti-tank missile like the M551- Sheridan...but since that version never went into production, it's probably one of the few prototype around although in scrap metal condition.

Tanks always fascinated me as a kid, don't know why really, but it's kinda of a minor hobby...
