Fly Like an Eagle

Not sure if these have been posted yet, but it is a pretty cool lil ride with an eagle.

first is over neuschwanstein castle in germany.

2nd is over the alps. swiss? french?

3rd is in france.. french alps?

4th is apparently a world record eagle flight over dubai, where you ride along with the eagle dive bombing. the speed is pretty cool.

what a rush to fly with the eagles.

Re: Fly Like an Eagle

Those first two videos look kinda strange. The eagle seems to be looking from west to east and the video is filming south to north.
I think it’s kinda cool at some level but strapping your GoPro to the back of a bird of prey not so much.

It's a 360 degree cam.

These are trained birds of prey, and these days the goPro cams weigh not much anymore and they strip the cam from all the things they don't need and the housing is made of ultralight carbon.

The harness uses thin, soft, flexible bands that expand and contract as the eagle's chest muscles movement.

The entire set up only weight 60 grams and an adult eagle weighs between 3.500 and 5.500 grams meaning it doesn't even exceed 2% of the total weight. (In wildlife biology and falconry, equipment must never exceed 3% to 5% of the bird's total body weight.)

at night, owls can spot movement from up to 1 to 2 miles away, a distance where an eagle is completely blind.

Turkey Vultures actively forage by gliding roughly under 100 feet to 200 feet above the tree canopy and that allows them to trap the rising gases, ethyl mercaptan, emitted by decomposing animals before the wind disperses the scent.

Within this lower altitude zone, their massive olfactory bulb allows them to track a scent trail drifting on the wind from about 1 mile away
