I'd guess the head was dumped there. Whales are filter feeders and can not survive without consuming a certain amount of plankton each day. Plankton is a tiny seaweed like plant that lives on the oceans surface, i have no idea if it lives in fresh water as well and i'm too fucking lazy to google it.
Baleen whales y0. And I think plankton is a microscopic type of shrimp.

The skull is from a baleen whale, but its too small to be a humpback or a blue whale. Judging from the decay on the skull, I would say its been there for a good 6 months at the most. All the meat is off of the bone, but the skull isnt quite yet bleached white yet.

And is it just me, or is the audio seriously fucked up on the vid?

On second thought i think you are right, that makes whales carnivores. Now because i realise that whales eat meat, i suppose that Moby Dick could have been a true story.
