Fire Devil, Flood, Earthquake and Nature Photos From 2012
Natural events documented in 2012 included a fire devil filmed near Curtin Springs in Australia's Northern Territory around September 11 and fields covered in spider silk during the March floods at Wagga Wagga, New South Wales. The Yangtze River turned red at Chongqing around September 6, a change officials blamed on sediment carried by floodwater. In Finale Emilia, Italy, the Torre dei Modenesi was left partly standing after an earthquake on May 20 before an aftershock brought down the remaining section later that day.
