Father for the First Time at 111!
Oh crap, just realized it's an AP article. So here goes. There's a type of lizard that's native to New Zealand, called a Tuatara, which is regarded as one of the last links back to dinosaurs (like that icthy fish and crocodiles and alligators and caiman and sharks and the loch Ness monster). A zoo in NZ has had one of these critters since around 1970. He never had any interest in women until he had a cancerous growth removed in recent times. This prompted him to go out and sign up for all sorts of matchmaking services. He finally was able to find a nice young lady to build a nest with and last month, he fertilized her eggs. And he's 111 years old. But, since AP won't let you use more than two of their words together, I have to paraphrase the whole thing. (probably won't do this very often, but the snark is strong with me today...) Source (Picture is not of the proud centenarian father, just a random Tuatara) |
